Smoked meat, as hard and black as coal;

A bitter drink -it’s beer, I’m told-

Eustache Deschamps (1346-1406) was a French poet and writer known for his works of satire, morality, and courtly love. He was a prolific writer and his works, such as "Le Miroir de Mariage" and "Le Livre de la Paix," were widely read and influential in their time.
