God Scatters Beauty
God scatters beauty as he scatters flowers
O’er the wide earth, and tells us all are ours.
A hundred lights in every temple burn,
And at each shrine I bend my knee in turn.
Walter Savage Landor (1775-1864) was an English writer and poet who is best known for his poetry and his prose works. Landor's most famous works include "Imaginary Conversations" and "Gebir." Landor was also a friend of many of the leading literary figures of his time, including Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth.
