Death Stands Above Me, Whispering Low
Death stands above me, whispering low
I know not what into my ear:
Of his strange language all I know
Is, there is not a word of fear.
Walter Savage Landor (1775-1864) was an English writer and poet who is best known for his poetry and his prose works. Landor's most famous works include "Imaginary Conversations" and "Gebir." Landor was also a friend of many of the leading literary figures of his time, including Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth.
