Bed Time
Cuddle-doun my bairnie
The dargie day is dune:
Yon’s a siller sternie
Ablow the siller mune.
Like a wabster body
Hingin on a threed
Far abune my laddie
In his wee creepie-bed.

Some of his best-known works include "The Happy Warrior," "The Three Eyes," and "The Land of the Leal." Soutar's writing is characterized by its simple and direct language, and his ability to capture the beauty of everyday experiences.
