Fragrant orchids in the valley
Fragrant orchids in the valley lend enchantment to the air;
those puffy clouds over the mountain are also delightful.
Amid pleasures such as these, I still long for my dear one.
Yi Hwang (1501-1570) was a Korean Confucian philosopher and poet who is considered one of the most important figures in Korean literature. His poetry often dealt with themes of morality, education, and the human experience, and his most famous works include "The Song of the Waterfall" and "The River of Tears."
